Music is mathematical, rhythmic, creative, imaginative, helps dexterity, and more. If your child listens to and loves learning music, it will be a fun, soothing escape for her. Playing music need not be regimented lessons but can be just fun with music toys. Some kids thrive in lessons and others don't. Many sports use musicality to perform to (figure skating, gymnastics, etc.). Others play music while the sport is played at times (baseball, hockey, etc.). It's good for the brain and making different type neural connections! We all need more choices in learning....
Kids like to hit sticks or rocks together to create a musical beat.
Make a simple drum from a canister of food, like what oatmeal comes in. Get a stick or pencil to beat on it.
Take a glass and rub the rim with a wet finger for a tone. Add some water at different levels to change the tone.
